where Lace meets Lauhala in the Land of Lava,  Hilo, Hawaii

You will enjoy exploring all of what's wonderful on Big Island and the area surrounding Hilo.

Big Island really is . . . really . . . really . . . big. All the other islands together can fit on Big Island twice. It is 220 miles around using Highways 11 and 19 without any side trips. Those highways intersect in Hilo, right at the Bay. Kona is 100 miles away if taking the northern route (Hwy 19) and 120 miles if traveling the southern route through Volcano (Hwy 11). There are so many things to do and see that it is truly impossible to enjoy everything if trying to make circle island in one day; we recommend a minimum several night stay on both sides.
